Hello, my name is Jenifer. I'm the owner of Plain Jane Hemp Company, LLC. I'm a single member LLC. In the past few years, I have spent many hours on the phone, reading regulations, emailing executives, contacting the USDA and State Department's of Agricultural to find the information I have collected to offer my services, for a one time fee.
I grew up in Pratt, Kansas playing softball and volleyball, going to Wilson Lake, and pretty much dancing through life-lacking self awareness. It wasn't until my Dad become terminally ill, did I start waking up to the reality that I would need to start putting my efforts and motivation into building my own life and start taking care of myself. I learned early on that it's better to do something right the first time or don't waste your time. So why was I slacking?
I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, and what I was interested in didn't last long. I would start many ventures and these plans that I had made for myself would drift away quickly and I'd end up in the same spot, trying to figure out my purpose in life.
Before I worked in the Hemp Industry, I worked as a server, I went to school for Cosmetology, I joined the NAVY, I worked for Wildlife & Parks, State Vital Statistics, and explored many avenues in the medical field. I worked as a CNA since 2003, and in hospital administration.
In 2014, I returned to college in pursuit of a nursing degree. At this time, I was working in Oregon for a private practice 5-7 days a week. It became difficult to keep up on my grades and studying, working full-time, and raising my children. I knew I needed another option and I continued to ask the universe for a change. I started practicing yoga, recycling, drinking more water, eating healthy, creating a lifestyle-opposed to how I was raised lacking so much awareness. Then one day, I was introduced to a friend who needed help watering and looking out for their plants part-time. This was perfect for my schedule and the pay was great. I took a leap of faith and left my full-time job and joined a small team that better fit my schedule. I continued to go to school and worked in the garden. Working with the plants felt like pure bliss, they were growing and so was I.
I found myself wanting to twist my hair into dreadlocks and sensing the plants delight when I watered. It was such a fresh, relaxing feeling. Climbing into the "trees" brought me back to feeling like a kid again. My health was improving, my mood was lifted, and for the first time in life -I knew who I wanted to be. I figured out where my passion lives. In and out of the field. All I could do was talk about, plan, and research how I would one day own my own company. I would walk around the house saying "Plain Jane Hemp Co" to the point where my family would say- "are you going to talk about hemp all day?" "Mom, can you talk about something else?" It remains the same to this day except my children are interested in learning more and think their mom has the coolest job a mom can have; I agree!
A few years later, I finished my prerequisites for nursing school. I tried to return back to the field of medicine but I didn't like what I was doing and I felt unhappy. Quickly, I realized I had a hard time setting boundaries and I was giving myself away to the Dr's offices and to my patients. Everyday, I felt I needed to hide who I really was and my views on medicine did not align-especially with orthopedic surgery.
Today, I have logged many hours researching, collecting information, and learning this industry. I have put my heart and soul into my work. I vow to bring you the best of the best service and testing through my knowledge and experience. Thank You!
